What does the Lake View's $284,500 starting price include?
It covers the cottage itself — built to specification, delivered to your site, and installed on a prepared foundation. It does not include the foundation, site preparation, servicing, permits or municipal development charges. Those are quoted separately against your particular lot, because a level serviced parcel and a sloped waterfront lot with no hydro at the road produce very different numbers. You get both figures before you commit to anything.
How many people does the Lake View sleep?
The Lake View has one bedroom and one full bathroom across 741 sq ft. It suits a couple, a single occupant, or one person working from the cottage full-time. If you need a second bedroom in a similar footprint, Hideaway is 788 sq ft with two bedrooms at $279,500.
Can the Lake View be used for full-time or year-round living?
That depends on how the cottage is specified and on the lot itself. The building can be specified for year-round use — talk to us about insulation and mechanical options at design stage. What usually decides it is the property: winter road access, servicing, and how your municipality classifies the dwelling. That’s part of what a site visit establishes.
Can I change the Lake View's layout?
Yes. Every model is a starting point rather than a finished design — interior walls can move, the porch can be extended, and finishes are yours to select. Changes are drawn and priced at design stage, before anything is built, so nothing arrives as a mid-project change order. If the Lake View is close but not quite right for your lot, we can design from your dimensions instead.
Is the Lake View a good fit for a small or narrow lot?
At 741 sq ft it’s one of the smaller models in our catalogue, which makes it a candidate for tighter lots, infill sites and properties where setbacks or shoreline provisions limit the buildable area. What matters as much as the footprint is delivery access — a truck and crane need room to reach the site and set the modules. We check both at the site visit.
Why does the Lake View cost more than some larger models?
Price reflects specification and complexity, not floor area alone. Ceiling treatment, glazing, roof geometry and interior finish all move the number independently of square footage — which is why two cottages of similar size in our range can differ substantially. If your priority is floor area per dollar, Orchard is 992 sq ft with two bedrooms at $289,500.
