My Own Cottage was founded in Orillia, Ontario as a builder with its factory, offices, and team rooted in Simcoe County’s prefab and cottage-country market.
Since our founding in 2021, we have delivered prefab homes, cottages, cabins, and garden suites to lots across Ontario — from serviced urban lots in the City of Orillia to waterfront parcels in Muskoka, rural properties in Severn and Ramara townships, and lots throughout the broader Simcoe County corridor.
Orillia’s position at the gateway to cottage country — 45 minutes south of Muskoka, adjacent to Lake Couchiching, and within reach of Northern Ontario’s rural market — shaped what we build and how we build it.
Our models are engineered for Ontario’s climate, permitted through Ontario’s regulatory framework, and delivered by a team that knows this market from the ground up.

Our design catalogue covers 33+ named models from 505 to 3,373 sq ft — compact ADU-scale builds through to spacious family homes. Every model is available with flexible finish levels and can be modified to match your lot’s specific site conditions and local permit requirements.

PERMITS & AUTHORITIES
Over the years we’ve navigated permit and approval processes with a wide range of Ontario authorities — from the City of Orillia Building Division and Simcoe County municipalities to the Muskoka District member municipalities and townships across Northern Ontario.
Our builds have taken us through Kawartha Lakes and the Haliburton Highlands, the Eastern Ontario and Ottawa Valley corridor, Georgian Bay and cottage country, the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding 905 communities, and Southwestern Ontario from Hamilton to Windsor.
SITE CONDITIONS
