Can You Design Custom Homes Instead of a Catalogue Model?
Yes. My Own Cottage designs custom homes as well as building from its catalogue. Models in the catalogue include Fox Den, Orchard, Solaris, Excelsior, Woodside and Water’s Edge, and you can compare 33 preconfigured models before you decide. If none suits your lot or your plans, you can start a plan of your own with us.
Building behind a house you already own? That starts from the existing dwelling rather than from a catalogue model, and units behind an existing home covers it.
Can You Choose Kit Homes, Panelized Construction or Turnkey?
Yes. The catalogue offers kit, panelized and turnkey fulfilment. Kit homes are the self-build option: the home ships as a kit for you to build, and the kit and self-build guide covers what that involves. Which of the three suits your project is a question for the consultation.

Who Handles the Foundation, Site Preparation, Servicing and Permits?
My Own Cottage helps with municipal permits. Licensed trades carry out the foundation, site preparation and servicing. They are licensed-trade installation professionals who work with My Own Cottage as contracted affiliates, not employees. Their work is quoted separately against your lot and set in the agreement before the build.
